Are wisdom teeth meant to be extracted?

Wisdom teeth or 3rd molars most of the times are erupted in odd directions and sometimes not seen in the mouth because they have an interruption on their way or they grow in an odd direction, such teeth are called impacted teeth and they need to be extracted.

Usually when the tooth fails to come out in the mouth. It would be growing in another direction either hitting the bone or adjacent tooth that is very painful. If you have a pain near your wisdom teeth it is recommend to visit a dentist near your place.
